ENO Fruit Salt is an over‑the‑counter antacid sold primarily in India, produced by Haleon/GlaxoSmithKline. It’s formulated to relieve heartburn, indigestion, acidity, and associated upper gastrointestinal discomfort. Its effervescent action works within seconds to neutralize stomach acid.

Typical composition per serving (~4.3 g sachet or 1 teaspoon ≈ 5 g):

• Sodium bicarbonate (about 1.95‑2.32 g)

• Citric acid anhydrous (about 1.83‑2.18 g)

• Sodium carbonate (about 0.43‑0.50 g)
  Optionally flavored and may include small amounts of saccharin sodium or coloring, depending on variant

How It Works

When mixed with water, Eno produces a fizzy solution that rapidly neutralizes excess gastric acid, raising the pH in the stomach in around 6 seconds. This immediate effervescence provides fast relief from symptoms of acidity and heartburn.

Use & Dosage

• Dissolve 1 teaspoon (≈5 g) in a glass of water (approx. 150 mL), stir completely until fizzing subsides, then drink.

• For severe symptoms, dosing may be repeated after 2 hours, but no more than twice in 24 hours.

• The maximum recommended usage duration is 14 days. If symptoms persist longer, consult a healthcare professional.
